We started out with the obvious choice -- Will's stylized signature surrounded by fonts we'd created inspired by the wonderful lettering in The Spirit. But DC wanted a feel that was less The Spirit and more like his later autobiographical and "real world" work. From there, it was simply a matter of figuring out the hierarchy of the words, and adding the tagline (got one Eisnerian font back in there!). Someday we'll have to make that tall serif font...
